Documents required based on your business structure

Sole proprietorship

Business owned and managed by only one individual.

  • A copy of the declaration of registration, if applicable.
  • One to two pieces of identification (driver’s license, passport, etc.) of business owner and all other authorized signers on the account.

Partnership

Business owned and managed by several individuals.

  • A copy of the declaration of registration, if applicable.
  • One to two pieces of identification (driver’s license, passport, etc.) of all authorized signers on the account.

Other documents may be requested, such as:

  • the partnership agreement
  • a list of partnership assets

Corporation

Business incorporated at the federal or provincial level.

  • A copy of the declaration of registration, if applicable.
  • A copy of the charter (certificate and articles of incorporation, letters patent, or other).
  • A copy of the rules and regulations.
  • One to two pieces of identification (driver’s license, passport, etc.) of all authorized signers on the account.

Other documents may be requested.

Association

Organization of persons having a common social or community goal.

  • A copy of the declaration of registration, if applicable.
  • Association By-Laws.
  • One to two pieces of identification (driver’s license, passport, etc.) of all authorized signers on the account.
