Farewell to passbooks, welcome to a simpler way of managing your finances
North Bay—May 1, 2023: Caisse Alliance is going green and embracing the technological evolution. As of July 1, 2023, passbooks will be discontinued. As a result, our passbook update service will no longer be offered in branch or at ATMs.
Caisse Alliance is one of the last financial institutions to cease offering this service. Some institutions eliminated the passbook more than a decade ago. Passbook printers are an obsolete technology and replacement parts and repair services have become difficult to obtain and are often not available, which has impacted our level of service to our members.
“We are aware of the importance of passbooks for many of our members, and we took all necessary measures to retain this service for as long as possible”, says Julie St-Jacques, Vice-President Member Experience at Caisse Alliance.
Passbook users have until June 30, 2023, to adopt an alternative solution. “Our employees will provide proper guidance to our members in learning simple and effective methods to manage their finances.”
According to their preference, members can receive a monthly account statement either virtually or by mail. During the pandemic, our online finance management platform gained in popularity and became indispensable. In just a few clicks, it is possible to manage your finances anytime, anywhere.
“Since 2020, many new users have registered with online banking and could not do without it. We are taking every means possible to enhance our member’s experience and ensure their complete satisfaction.”
Although we are taking this digital direction, please rest assured that our team is always eager to serve and assist you in branch as we know some members prefer not to opt for the new technology. It is always a pleasure seeing our members in person and we will continue providing you with our excellent service in branch or virtually.
