North Bay, September 17, 2026 – Driven by changing economic and social dynamics, the habits of Caisse Alliance members have evolved significantly over the past several years, resulting in a marked decline of in-person service utilization at some of its smaller branch locations. In this context, the use of in-person counter services remains limited, making it increasingly difficult to maintain these locations as they currently operate.
The Opasatika, Val Rita, and Fauquier Branch have experienced a significant decline in transaction volumes and new memberships for a number of years. To preserve its ability to invest in enhancing the member experience and evolving its service offering, the Board of Directors is announcing a change to its branch network so that it better reflects the current habits and needs of its members.
Effective April 5, 2027, transactional services and in-person assistance will no longer be available at the Opasatika, Val Rita, and Fauquier locations. Members will be able to access these services through the Kapuskasing Branch or the nearest branch location.
“This decision is based on several years of monitoring how our members’ needs and preferences have evolved, combined with a careful analysis of the data collected. The insights gained have led us to reconsider our structure in certain communities to help ensure the long-term sustainability of our services and enhance our resilience for the future,” explained Grégoire Lefebvre, Chair of the Board of Directors of Caisse Alliance.
Strategically located in the heart of the region, the Kapuskasing Branch provides members with convenient and flexible access to Caisse Alliance services through extended business hours and offers comprehensive support for both personal and commercial financial needs.
“Members remain at the heart of this initiative,” emphasized Pierre Dorval, President and Chief Executive Officer of Caisse Alliance. “We remain firmly committed to them. The communities of Opasatika, Val Rita and Fauquier are an integral part of the territory served by Caisse Alliance. We will continue to invest in these communities, support local initiatives, and assist our members with the same personalized service that sets us apart,” concluded the head of the financial cooperative.
Members impacted have received a letter outlining this change along with the details about an upcoming information session where they will have the opportunity to share their thoughts, express concerns, and gain a better understanding of the support measures being put in place to assist them.
