Central Nipissing schools realize their projects thanks to donations from the Caisse Alliance
STURGEON FALLS, October 5, 2022 – A total of 8 projects in Central Nipissing schools have been completed since last fall. The projects, awarded by the Central Nipissing Regional Cooperative Committee, were ecological, artistic, sports and structuring in nature and had a positive impact on the development of the schools and their students.
Thanks to these contributions, the schools of the Conseil scolaire catholique Franco-Nord will be able to benefit respectively from a green space, a space for outdoor learning, as well as new equipment promoting physical activity, another one will be pleased with three new bottle dispensers, and another will be able to use a new pavilion for its outdoor classroom.
“The Caisse Alliance is a valuable community partner, and we greatly appreciate your many contributions to the French-language Catholic schools of the Conseil scolaire catholique Franco-Nord!” Explains Serge Levac, Director of Education for this board.
For the Near North District School Board, the Caisse’s donation provided for the purchase of resources and programs. “The two MIG/TIG welders and the motorcycle / ATV / UTV lift will provide multiple opportunities for our students to develop knowledge and skills which will enable them to become successful in the work force.” said Kevin Baker, Director of Technology and Mining Education at Northern Secondary School. “Having community partners like Caisse Alliance invest in the future of our youth is essential to the growth of our communities.”
“We are proud to invest in the schools in our region.” Explains Marcy Lemieux, Regional Manager for the Nipissing-Central Region of Caisse Alliance. “All of the projects presented to our regional advisory committee are of great value to the schools and students.”
The Caisse Alliance Fund was created in 2018 to allow deposits of a portion of its profits to financially support structuring projects in our communities. A total of $3 million has been deposited in this foundation to finance projects that will have a long-term impact for a maximum number of members in our communities. The regional cooperative committees of the six regions of the Caisse’s greater territory are responsible for approving the applications received. The following list represents all schools that received $10,000 last fall and their project description.
