THE EXCHANGE® and ACCULINK® networks

Members traveling across Canada can easily find surcharge-free ATMs on THE EXCHANGE® and ACCULINK® networks. If you’re traveling in Atlantic Canada, Ontario or British Columbia, please see THE EXCHANGE® information below, and if you’re traveling in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, additional ATMs can be located by referring to the ACCULINK® network information. Together, these two networks offer members over 3,200 surcharge-free ATMs across Canada.

The ACCULINK® ATM network

Canadian credit unions belong to the Cooperative EFT Development Association (CEDA) and participate in the ACCULINK® ATM network. ACCULINK® is the brand name for the credit union system’s exclusive surcharge-free ATM service, which connects and supports over 1,800 credit union ATMs, more than 380 credit unions and over 5,000,000 members.

This network provides members with numerous services without having to worry about paying additional fees (standard account fees still apply), including:

• Withdrawals up to the maximum daily amount as specified by the member’s credit union at all full-function ATMs and cash dispensers
• Deposits, including cash, cheques and other negotiable instruments to your accounts at all full-service ATMs
• Personal identification number (PIN) changes at all chip-enabled ATMs
• Transfer funds between accounts at all full-service ATMs and those that do not accept deposits
• Account balance inquiries at all full-service and non-deposit-taking ATMs

Three ways to find ACCULINK® ATMs in Canada

• Look for the ACCULINK® logo on ATMs.
• Search online: http://locator.cucentral.com

To use the locator, fill in the “Search by address” field (enter the name of a city/location) and click on “Search”. Branches and ATMs will be displayed for the selected location. Your search can be narrowed by checking the filter options and clicking “Apply filters”.

• Download the “Canadian Credit Union Branch and ATM Locator” application.

This free mobile application enables members to find branches and ATMs available on the ACCULINK® service and THE EXCHANGE® network across Canada. The app is available for your iPhone®, BlackBerry®, Android™ or Windows® smartphones. The app’s Global Positioning System (GPS) provides an interactive map and directions from your current location to your branch/ATM of choice. It displays additional information, including branch/ATM opening hours and available services.

THE EXCHANGE® network of ATMs

THE EXCHANGE® is a network of mainly credit unions and some banks that have come together and agreed to offer free withdrawals, deposits and PIN changes to cardholders shared between their institutions at 2,000 ATMs across Canada.

Three ways to find THE EXCHANGE® ATMs in Canada

• Look for THE EXCHANGE® logo on ATMs.

• Download the “Exchange ATM Locator” application

This application is available on Android, Blackberry and iPhone (not available on Windows smartphones). The app will locate over 2,400 ATMs at no extra charge and display details including: deposit availability, business hours, ability to change your PIN, available languages, directions and interactive map.

Travelling outside Canada: The EXCHANGE (USA), ACCEL® and Cirrus® networks

When traveling outside Canada, you can access your money by searching the ACCEL POS network, The EXCHANGE in the U.S. or the Cirrus US and logo International Network. Although you may incur additional usage fees in some cases, these convenient services are in place to provide you with instant access to your money.
