Good thing there are debit cards! The Caisse Alliance Debit Card is a must for taking advantage of these services:<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>ATMs<\/li>\n<li>Allia<\/li>\n<li>Direct payment<\/li>\n<li>Over-the-counter transactions at the caisse<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Your card gives you access to:<\/h3>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>the biggest network of ATMs in Ontario and Quebec;<\/li>\n<li>the Interac network throughout Canada;<\/li>\n<li>the NYCE network throughout the US;<\/li>\n<li>the Plus network-up to 500,000 ATMs where you can make withdrawals across over a hundred countries.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>How to use your card and save<\/h2>\n<h3>At an ATM<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li data-gc-list-depth=\"1\" data-gc-list-style=\"bullet\">Withdraw money at a Caisse Alliance ATM. You\u2019ll avoid the user fees (up to $6) charged at bank ATMs or private ATMs (often found at corner stores).<\/li>\n<li data-gc-list-depth=\"1\" data-gc-list-style=\"bullet\">At 18, you\u2019ll have to pay user fees when you exceed a certain number of transactions. To avoid that, take out a bigger amount at a time. If you have $40 in your pocket instead of $20, you\u2019ll go to the ATM less often.<\/li>\n<li data-gc-list-depth=\"1\" data-gc-list-style=\"bullet\">By selecting a plan that meets your needs when you\u2019re 18, you\u2019ll avoid paying too much in user fees. See\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.caissealliance.com\/en\/services\/forfaits-transactionnels\/\">Monthly plans<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>At the store<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li data-gc-list-depth=\"1\" data-gc-list-style=\"bullet\">Take advantage of an in-store purchase to ask the cashier if you can withdraw $20 or $40 more. You won\u2019t have to look for the closest Caisse Alliance ATM, and you\u2019ll avoid the user fees charged at another financial institution\u2019s ATM.<\/li>\n<li data-gc-list-depth=\"1\" data-gc-list-style=\"bullet\">Remember that when you use direct payment, the amount is automatically transferred from your account to the store\u2019s account. It\u2019s easy to spend more when using your debit card because you don\u2019t see the money disappearing from your wallet. Make sure you stay on top of your expenses and that you have enough money to pay for what\u2019s really important (bus pass, etc.). Thanks to Allia, it\u2019s easy to view all the transactions made in your account.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>But remember! If you use non-Caisse Alliance ATMs, you\u2019ll pay a transaction fee as high as $3 or more!<\/p>\n<h3>Did you know?<\/h3>\n<p>If you\u2019re under 18, you can make an unlimited number of transactions without user fees thanks to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.caissealliance.com\/en\/products\/youth-savings\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-gc-link=\"https:\/\/www.caissealliance.com\/?p=1225\">Youth Profit Account.<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Two birds with one stone!<\/h3>\n<p>With direct payment, you can also use your card in most stores and restaurants.\u00a0<strong>Take advantage of this service to withdraw cash at the same time!<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>How to protect your PIN<\/h2>\n<p>To use your Debit card, you need a personal identification number (PIN) of 5 numbers. With this PIN, you have access to all your money. So, it\u2019s important to keep it a secret!<\/p>\n<p>Here are a few guidelines to follow:<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Choose a PIN that you can easily memorize, but that would make it difficult for others to guess (avoid using your date of birth, address, telephone number, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Never write your PIN on your card or a piece of paper in your wallet.<\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t give out your PIN to anyone, not even a friend, police officer or Caisse Alliance employee.<\/li>\n<li>Make your transactions at the ATM only if you feel safe and that everything seems to be normal (ex.: if the card reader doesn\u2019t look the same as usual, don\u2019t put your card in and go to another ATM).<\/li>\n<li>Make sure the person in line behind you (at the store or ATM) can\u2019t see your PIN when you\u2019re entering it.<\/li>\n<li>If you lose your card or get it stolen, contact your Caisse Alliance immediately.
