It requires a lot of time and energy. In order to talk about yourself more efficiently, start by drawing up your profile in relation to the job you want!<\/p>\n<div id=\"bodyinfo\">\n<h2>Make a personal and professional assessment<\/h2>\n<p>Make a personal assessment in terms of the skills and qualities required for the position. This allows you to choose keywords based on what you want the employer to notice and shows that you\u2019re aware of your strengths and limits.<\/p>\n<p>Determine your expectations and what you have to offer. This will help you target the business sectors, companies and types of jobs that suit you.<br \/>\nStart by drawing up a detailed list of your:<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>motivations<\/li>\n<li>skills<\/li>\n<li>aptitudes<\/li>\n<li>competencies<\/li>\n<li>work experience<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Determine the type of work and the ideal work conditions<\/h2>\n<p>Do some thinking about:<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>what type of work will suit you<\/li>\n<li>the job location (with relation to your means of transportation<\/li>\n<li>the salary and employee benefits you\u2019re looking for<\/li>\n<li>etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Then you\u2019ll be able to identify your ideal working conditions.<\/p>\n<h2>Getting your Social Insurance Number<\/h2>\n<p>To work, you must have a Social Insurance Number (SIN). Employers must ask all new employees to show them their social insurance card at the time of hiring. And as an employee, you are required to do so within three days following the start of your employment.<\/p>\n<p>If you don\u2019t already have a Social Insurance Number, you can obtain one for free. Simply get an\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/catalogue.servicecanada.gc.ca\/content\/EForms\/en\/Detail.html?Form=NAS2120\">application form<\/a>\u00a0at your local\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.servicecanada.gc.ca\/cgi-bin\/hr-search.cgi?app=hme&amp;ln=eng\">Canada Service Centre<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/catalogue.servicecanada.gc.ca\/content\/EForms\/en\/Detail.html?Form=NAS2120\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">download the PDF version online<\/a>, print it, complete it and attach an original copy of your birth certificate.<\/p>\n<p>Once the form is duly completed, you can:<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>submit it to a Canada Service Centre (you get your number on the spot and your card is mailed to you within five days)<\/li>\n<li>mail it in (your card will arrive in three to four weeks)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Caution:<\/strong>\u00a0Your Social Insurance Number is confidential and should only be used for income related purposes, such as to calculate the amount of income tax to deduct from your pay.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Whether you\u2019re looking for a part-time or full-time position, job searching can be a challenge in itself.
