As part of\u00a0Canada\u2019s Economic Action Plan<\/em>\u00a0and to improve access to financing for Canadian businesses in during this period of economic uncertainty, the Federal Government has launched the Business Credit Availability Program (BCAP).<\/p>\n Export Development Canada (EDC) and the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) will work with Caisse Alliance and other financial institutions in the private sector to provide loans and other forms of credit to creditworthy businesses within the program.<\/p>\n Through this program, EDC and BDC will provide at least $5 billion in direct lending and other types of support and facilitation at market rates to businesses with viable business models whose access to financing would otherwise be restricted.<\/p>\n Any creditworthy Canadian business seeking financing to support its operations and maintain jobs may apply. Canadian companies should first contact their Caisse Alliance account manager to determine how the Business Credit Availability Program applies to their situation. In some cases, they will be referred to the BDC or EDC.
