3rd Caisse Alliance AGM: A successful financial year in 2020 and over $13,500 awarded during the Double Your Refund contest
NORTH BAY, April 28, 2021 – Following its AGM held on Tuesday, April 27, 2021, Caisse Alliance is proud to announce the winners of its Double Your Refund contest which ran from April 5 to 23, 2021.
AGM
As announced on March 22, 2021, Caisse Alliance had to change the format of its 3rd Annual General Meeting. Considering the restrictions with public gatherings and to contribute to the collective efforts to contain the spread of the virus, the AGM was held in virtual format by Zoom on Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at 7 p.m. Over 351 members were present during the meeting. Members who wish to consult the Caisse’s annual report and financial statements are invited to click here. French copies of the annual report will also be available at our branches once the situation returns to normal. In addition to these documents, the video recording of the meeting will also be availabley, in French only, through our website. Members of the management team as well as regional directors remain available to answer questions from members.
Despite the pandemic, the Caisse had an excellent 2020 fiscal year. Its assets now stand at 1.92 billion, an increase of 11.3 % from 2019. Profits before taxes and dividends totalled 14.3 million, or 3.6 million more than the previous year. Again this year, the board of directors declared a distribution to members of over 5 million, a significant return in this difficult time for our members and our businesses. Caisse Alliance is now the 29th largest Caisse among Credit Unions and Caisses populaires in the country.
At the meeting, four directors were elected for three-year terms. They are Mr. Stéphane Gallant, Mr. Kevin Cloutier, Mr. Marcel Guérin and Mr. Olivier Cabana.
Double Your Refund Contest
In addition, a contest promoting the refund was held during the month of April for all eligible members. Registration for the contest was free on the Caisse’s website. By registering, participants had the chance to double their refund, for a minimum of $250 and a maximum of $750. Participating members were required to submit a photo with the registration form, the name of a non-profit organization and a comment indicating why they chose that organization. In each of the 6 regions served by the Caisse, a donation of $1000 would be given to non-profit organizations chosen by the winners.
